Social Supermarket

Our Social Supermarket helps improve access to affordable essentials, reduce food waste, and create a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels respected. It supports dignity, choice and community, while making day-to-day life a little easier for local residents.

Neo Community’s Social Supermarket is stocked through a mix of surplus donations from supermarkets and local retailers, alongside community contributions. This means the offer changes daily, but you can expect a good selection of fresh produce, frozen items, tins and packets, toiletries, cleaning goods and, when available, baby supplies and culturally inclusive foods.

Open to all, the Social Supermarket supports individuals and families across Wirral who may be on low incomes, managing difficult circumstances, or simply looking for a supportive place to shop. There are no referrals or criteria. We only ask visitors to register so we can understand how best to help. Above all, it’s a space where people can take what they need with dignity and without judgement.

The supermarket runs with the dedication of staff and volunteers who work hard to keep the space friendly, well-stocked and welcoming. Like our other services, it operates on a Pay-As-You-Feel basis. Visitors contribute what they can afford, and those who can’t contribute are equally welcome. Some people choose to give back through volunteering, skills or time.
